The Volzhanin factory, which occupies 20% of the chicken egg market in the Central Federal District, has suspended deliveries

The Volzhanin poultry farm located in the Yaroslavl region, which occupies 20% of the chicken meat and egg market in the Central Federal District (CFD) of the Russian Federation, has stopped supplying its products — the reason for this could be an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPV). This was reported by Kommersant on December 21, citing relevant documents and sources.

"On December 18, JSC Volzhanin notified counterparties of the termination of shipments of products," the material says.

It is specified that HSPs was identified at the site of the enterprise, which will take up to six months to eliminate. During this period, as emphasized, quarantine measures will have to be carried out at the poultry farm and the livestock will be restored, which the veterinary service of the Yaroslavl region has currently decided to monitor. In the case of deaths of more than 0.5% of birds from one poultry house, the enterprise where it was ordered to tighten disinfection control is obliged to inform the authorities of the region about this.

Currently, Volzhanin, which has been in existence since 1993, is considering the possibility of partially continuing its work. At the moment, in the context of falling business margins, the company's costs are projected to increase.

On November 10, the Tyumen regional information center reported an outbreak of an infectious bird disease that was recorded at a local poultry enterprise. It was clarified that in order to prevent the spread of the disease, a decision was made to slaughter birds. All necessary measures were carried out in accordance with veterinary regulations, away from residential buildings. The process itself, as emphasized in the text, was mainly carried out at night.
