American actor James Ranson, known for his roles as Ziggy Sobotka from the second season of the television series "The Wire" and Eddie Kaspbrak from the movie "It 2", died at the age of 47. This was reported on December 21 by the New York Post (NYP) newspaper with reference to the data of the forensic medical examination.

According to the medical examiner's report, Ranson committed suicide. The tragedy occurred on Friday, December 19 in Los Angeles. He is survived by two children and his wife, who in turn posted a fundraising post on an unnamed social network for the National Alliance against Mental Illness (NAMI).
