The crew of the Mi-26 helicopter with Russian and Belarusian pilots is being held at Tunis airport for the third day. The footage appeared on December 21 at the disposal of Izvestia.

According to one of the pilots, their helicopter is engaged in cargo transportation and carries out humanitarian missions under a contract with the UN. They were flying from Libya to Algeria, and stopped at Djerba airport in Tunis to refuel.

"That's how they decided to place us on these benches, they bring them instead of metal ones and say: 'this is enough for you, Russians can sleep on the floor at all,' they say," one of the crew members commented on the situation.

Also, according to the pilot, there are peculiarities of coordination of such flights. In this case, the approval may be delayed by 2-3 days, depending on the country. However, at the moment, Russians are being held at the airport without explanation.

In addition, the pilots' passports were taken away and they are not allowed to leave the airport — they spend the night in the waiting room. It is noted that the Russian consulate has joined the case, it is in cooperation with the Tunisian authorities.

Earlier, on December 5, it was reported that Russian tourists faced many hours of delays in departure from Sharm el-Sheikh airport, which led to conflicts and public protest. After the riot, people were given food and water, and two hours later the flight was sent, but the boarding passes were not marked with a delay, which deprives them of the right to compensation.
