A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops improved the situation along the front line, defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of settlements of the Kharkiv region and the DPR. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 210 militants, a T-72 tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, an HMMWV armored car, a Senator armored personnel carrier, 14 vehicles, two field artillery guns and three ammunition depots. The southern group of troops occupied more advantageous lines and positions.

"Units of the Center group of forces continued the destruction of the encircled enemy in the city of Dimitrov, Donetsk People's Republic, and the cleansing of the Rodinskoye settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic from scattered formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They defeated the manpower and equipment <...> of the Ukrainian Armed Forces <...> in the areas of the settlements of Verovka, Annovka, Sergeyevka, Artemovka, Toretskoye, Belitskoye, Rodinskoye, Novoaleksandrovka of the Donetsk People's Republic and Novopavlovka of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy's losses amounted to more than 455 military personnel," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated enterprises of the military industry of Ukraine, energy facilities, transport and storage infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assembly sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 144 districts. In turn, air defense systems shot down 29 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 104,014 UAVs, 640 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,637 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,634 multiple launch rocket launchers, 32,062 field artillery and mortars, 49,684 special vehicles.
