The dialogue between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French leader Emmanuel Macron should be aimed at understanding the positions of both sides. This was announced on December 21 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"This should be a dialogue in order to try to understand each other's positions," Peskov said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

He noted that the Russian leader is always ready to explain his position to his interlocutors "in detail, sincerely and consistently."
