On December 20, sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev commented on the conflict between skier Alexander Bolshunov in an interview with a journalist after the sprint at the Russian Cup.

"You can't act like a hysterical woman, accuse her of PR. What are you shouting? We all promote ourselves there, yes, of course. Where would the champions be if there were no journalists? <...> Sasha, take it easy. We love you very much, but be calm," the commentator said in an interview with Sport-Express.

The incident occurred after the sprint at the Cup stage, when Bolshunov took fourth place, losing 3.74 seconds to the leading athlete. The journalist tried to ask him a few questions, but the athlete rudely refused him and accused him of PR.
