The United States has unveiled the Sunrise Project, which aims to transform Palestinian Gaza into a high-tech metropolis. The plan, worth $112.1 billion, was developed by the son-in-law of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, and special envoy Stephen Witkoff. This was reported on December 19 by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper, citing American officials.

It is specified that the United States is going to take on about 20% of the costs of rebuilding the enclave over 10 years. According to the plan, a technological resort with intelligent power grids and high-speed railways is planned to be built on the territory of Gaza. The presentation of the project was shown to potential investors, but some American officials, according to the publication, have already expressed doubts about its implementation.

"We are absolutely confident that we will find investors to restore and provide all humanitarian support in the long term," the newspaper quoted US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as saying.

It is reported that the presentation was held confidentially, but was not classified. Details about the future sponsor countries and contractors were not reported, but representatives of the Persian Gulf, Turkey and Egypt kingdoms were among the potential donors at the event. The plan also did not mention the place of residence of 2 million local residents during the reconstruction.

Axios portal reported on December 4 that Trump plans to announce the implementation of the second phase of his Gas plan by December 25. The adoption of an American draft resolution in support of the President's plan to establish peace in the Gaza Strip was announced on Monday, November 17, following a vote by the UN Security Council. According to the American leader, this project will go down in the history of the United Nations. On November 18, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the US resolution on resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip contradicts international decisions that provide for the creation of the state of Palestine.
