After the closure of the bridge in the Odessa region, Ukraine may lose 60% of fuel imports, which will lead to the phased closure of gas stations. This was announced on December 19 by Dmitry Leushkin, founder of the Prime group of transport and logistics companies.

"60% of the market is Izmail, closing it in this way on Monday will raise prices, <...> create a wild shortage of fuel trucks and lead to phased stops of gas stations," he said in a Facebook post (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

According to the expert, the fuel market will be "feverish" for the first week until logistics is rebuilt through the territories of Romania and Moldova. He also noted that any problem in the fuel market sharply exposes transport issues.

On December 17, Oleg Kiper, head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration (OVA), announced that a state-level emergency situation in the energy system had been introduced in the Odessa region in southern Ukraine.

On the same day, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced that Ukraine's energy capacity had more than halved. He noted that more than 70% of thermal power plants and 37% of hydroelectric power plants providing energy to the military industry and the army of Ukraine were disabled.
