- The premiere of the updated version of the play "The Scarlet Flower" took place
The premiere of the updated version of the play "The Scarlet Flower" directed by Evgeny Pisarev took place at the Moscow Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin. The performance is listed in the Russian Book of Records.
The premiere was attended by star guests with children, among them: Alexandra Ursulyak, Alexander Arsentiev, Anna Karmakova, Lisa Arzamasova, Vladimir Marconi, Katya Kabak, Timur Rodriguez, Sofia Kashtanova, Anastasia Meskova, Glafira Tarkhanova, Daria Kalmykova, Yanina Studilina, Evgenia Dmitrieva, Anna Tikhomirova, Gleb Matveychuk, Svetlana Abramova, Tatiana Tereshina and others.
"The Scarlet Flower" appeared in the repertoire of the Pushkin Theater in 1950, and became a kind of mascot for us – artistic directors and times changed, but the play lived on, and for 75 years several generations of artists and spectators passed through it. The uniqueness and charm of the Scarlet Flower, in my opinion, lies in the fact that it does not use modern technologies, without which it is impossible to imagine a children's play today. And our creative team, preparing for the premiere of the updated version, tried in every possible way to emphasize the vintage of this performance: the artists hand-painted the scenery, the costumes were also hand-embroidered, we did not try to "modernize" Aksakov's text. I would like the modern generation of children to have the opportunity to touch one of the best Russian fairy tales and a true theatrical miracle," said director Evgeny Pisarev.
The premiere of the lyrical tale of the scarlet flower took place in December 1950. To mark the 75th anniversary of the legendary production, Evgeny Pisarev is releasing an updated version of the play. For the sake of saving her father's life, Alyonushka agreed to live in the palace of a terrible monster. Behind the ugly appearance of the owner, the girl could see a loving, suffering heart.
