The Federation Council banned the sale of tobacco and vapes at bus stops
On December 19, the Federation Council approved a law banning the sale of tobacco products and vapes at public transport stops.
The document amends the federal law "On the protection of citizens' health from exposure to ambient tobacco smoke, the effects of tobacco consumption or consumption of nicotine-containing products," RIA Novosti said.
According to the law, a ban is imposed on the sale of cigarettes, vapes, nicotine consumption devices, as well as hookahs at bus stops of all types of urban and suburban transport.
The relevant law provides for an exception in the form of cases when the outlet at the bus stop is the only place of sale of such products in the city.
On December 5, the State Duma (DG) proposed a ban on involving persons under 21 in work with tobacco, nicotine-containing and alcoholic products. The authors of the initiative noted that due to their young age, some employees may not be fully aware of their responsibility and may be negligent about the legal restrictions on the sale of tobacco and alcohol, especially when serving people of the same age range.
