At the European Union (EU) summit, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will expect direct explanations from Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever regarding his decision not to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. This was reported on December 18 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.

"De Wever will look Zelensky straight in the eye and tell him why he believes that frozen Russian assets in Brussels should not be given to support Ukraine," the article says.

The publication also clarified that initially the Ukrainian leader was supposed to participate in the summit in an online format, but eventually decided to personally attend the negotiations.
