- Zakharova called the creation of the EU commission to assess the damage to Ukraine an escalation
Europe is deliberately escalating by creating a commission to assess the damage to Ukraine. This was stated on December 18 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing.
"Against the background of ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine diplomatically, the Soviet Europeans and their henchmen are clearly escalating," Zakharova said.
She also stated that the decisions of international organizations, such as the creation of a commission to assess damage to Ukraine, are legally null and void for Moscow. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the participation of any States or organizations in such initiatives would be regarded as a hostile act, with appropriate consequences.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on December 15 that the actions of the European Union (EU) countries are the main threat in the world at the moment. According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, it has happened more than once in history that Europe has become a source of large-scale crises.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, announced on December 2 that Russia was not going to go to war with Europe. According to him, Russia is currently operating in Ukraine "surgically," but in the event of an attack by European countries on Russia, everything will be different.
