- Belousov announced an increase in the survival rate of wounded SVO fighters due to rapid evacuation
More than 90% of the wounded arriving from the battlefield during the SVR can be saved thanks to rapid evacuation. This was announced on December 17 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at an expanded board meeting of the department.
"I would like to note that today more than 90% of the wounded coming from the battlefield have been saved. The next task is the timely evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield. We managed to significantly increase their survival rate by reducing the time of delivery to medical institutions," he said.
Belousov noted that over the past two years, the time for evacuation of military personnel with complex wounds to a place of high-tech care has been reduced to 36 hours versus 40. This became possible due to the almost complete provision of medical equipment for the groups of troops. The availability of armored vehicles has been increased to 86% of the needs, which is twice as high as last year.
The Defense Minister also added that in 2025, 6 new hospitals will be built, including in Kursk and the Bryansk region, which will increase the bed capacity by 1,000 units and will provide assistance to 20,000 wounded per year. In 2026, it is planned to introduce 6 more hospitals with 1.5 thousand beds.
