Two former and one current employee of the Ministry of Road Management and Transport of the Chelyabinsk region were detained by employees of the FSB department for the region in the case of embezzlement of more than 2.9 billion rubles. This was reported to Izvestia on December 17 by a law enforcement source.

"Today, employees of the Russian FSB directorate for the Chelyabinsk region are conducting searches at the places of residence and work of [Mindortrans specialists] <...> They are detained," he said.

It is noted that the employees are suspects in the case provided for in Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Embezzlement or embezzlement"). It is noted that the case is connected with the ex-Minister of Road Management and Transport of the Chelyabinsk region Alexey Nechaev, who stole 2.9 billion rubles as part of the fulfillment of government contracts.

Nechaev was detained on February 19. Three days later, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow sent the ex-minister to a pre-trial detention center. It was noted that Nechaev is accused of embezzlement of funds on a particularly large scale. In October, he pleaded guilty in the case.
