The most modern train has entered the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow metro

The Moscow-2026 series has been launched on the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. In comparison with the "numbered" trains, the maximum capacity of the train increased by 10%, and the doors became wider by 32%, the mayor told the MAX network.

The train, assembled at the Metrovagonmash enterprise, passed a test run-in without passengers before entering the line. "Today, Moscow-2026 is one of the most technologically advanced metro cars in the world," Sobyanin stressed. He noted that the train is made of domestic components.

The cars have more air ducts in the ceiling for air conditioning. Also, the new structure has increased the glazing area on the handrails of the entrance group, updated the rear—view camera housing, and the passenger-driver communication unit. In addition, the lighting of the head of the trains has changed. The seats of the new trains are made without metal joints.

The mayor announced in November that 40 modern Moscow-2026 railcars would be purchased for the Zamoskvoretskaya Line by the end of the year. According to him, the process of updating the trains of this branch is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.
