Fetisov explained the words about Russia's loss of authority in world hockey
Two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov announced on December 15 that his words about the status of Russian hockey are related to the loss of influence in the international arena.
Earlier, the former hockey player said that Russia had lost its authority and influence on decisions in world hockey and called the country "not a very hockey power."
"I reacted to the fact that if we have lost influence, it means that we have no influence on decision-making today. If we had this authority, we probably could position ourselves differently," he said on the RTVI News YouTube channel.
On December 10, Fetisov announced that the decision of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to allow only two Russian skiers to participate in the selection for the 2026 Olympic Games aims to split the Russian national team and the entire Russian society. He noted that the permission for two athletes is a real mockery.
