Russian elevator construction plants are fully prepared to provide replacement of elevators with expired service life by February 2030. This was stated by the First Deputy General Director of DOM.Russian Federation Alexey Nidens at the visiting meeting of the Federation Council on the implementation of the roadmap for the development of the elevator industry. The event took place at the site of the Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant, which is part of the DOM.RF group.

"The combined potential of the industry allows us to produce about 50-60 thousand new elevators per year. The enterprises have modern equipment, the necessary technologies, qualified personnel and proven logistics chains," stressed Nydens.

He also noted that the success of the program to replace outdated elevators depends not only on the willingness of manufacturers, but also on the coordinated work of all participants in the process, primarily on stable financing of purchases by the regions. In his opinion, the implementation of programs to replace obsolete elevators, which are implemented by regional capital repair funds, is of key importance.

"Currently, the volume of such purchases remains quite restrained, largely due to limited financing in the regions. This issue requires special attention and a search for solutions," the expert commented.

One of the solutions could be a federal preferential factoring program with subsidized rates for manufacturers, developed by DOM.The Russian Federation jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the company stressed, noting that a similar approach has already been successfully tested by the Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant. There's funding from DOM.The Russian Federation made it possible to offset the rate on funds raised for the execution of a number of contracts with capital repair funds.
