Russians are advised to take a more careful approach to energy consumption planning, especially during the period of increased tariffs. On December 20, Geoghi Tsereteli, head of the Ippon New Product Development Department, and Mikhail Khachaturian, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of Strategic and Innovative Development at the Financial University, told Izvestia about which simple solutions help significantly reduce electricity costs without compromising comfort.

"One of the ways to reduce energy costs is to install smart sockets at home or in the office. They can be used to control the power supply remotely. For example, to turn off devices that are in standby mode or have not been used for a long time," Tsereteli said.

According to him, it is possible to seriously reduce costs thanks to high-class household appliances of energy efficiency. Category A+++ appliances consume 40-60% less electricity compared to Class A appliances. An additional effect is provided by the use of large household appliances — for example, washing machines and dishwashers — at night, when a more favorable tariff is in effect.

The expert paid special attention to the technical condition of the home power grid. Regular monitoring, timely replacement of outdated protection elements and installation of modern stabilizers or uninterruptible power supplies reduce the risk of power surges and extend the service life of equipment. This allows you to avoid unexpected breakdowns and reduce the cost of repairing or replacing equipment.

In addition, Khachaturian added that an important point is the use of multi-tariff meters, which allow you to distribute the load depending on the cost during a specific period of the day or night. It is also necessary to regularly analyze electricity bills.

"Such an analysis allows us to regularly determine reserves for savings, for example, moving the traditional actions of using a washing machine and dishwasher at night, when the cost of a kilowatt of electricity is lower," the expert concluded.

Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing, reminded on June 25 that in Russia, citizens whose expenses for paying utility bills exceed a certain share of family income are eligible for subsidies. First of all, such categories usually include poor or large families, pensioners, the disabled, as well as families of participants in a special military operation (SVO) if they meet the criteria of need, he noted.
