A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces defeated the formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Jaeger brigade and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Alekseevka and Ryzhevka in the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv direction, units of the heavy mechanized brigade, the assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the air defense brigade and two National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Veliky Burluk, Vilcha, Okhrimovka and Prilipka of the Kharkiv region. The enemy's losses amounted to over 240 military personnel, an armored combat vehicle, five vehicles and two warehouses of materiel.

The units of the "Southern" group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and lines. Formations of five mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Konstantinovka, Nikiforovka, Reznikovka, Seversk, Slavyansk and Stepanovka of the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 150 soldiers, an infantry fighting vehicle, an M113 armored personnel carrier made in the USA, 13 vehicles and a 155 mm self-propelled artillery mount "Paladin" made in the USA.

The units of the Vostok group of forces continue to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses and have completed the liberation of the village of Varvarovka, Zaporizhia region. The manpower and equipment of two assault brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and a defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Gavrilovka, Dnipropetrovsk region, Vozdvizhevka, Gulyai Pole, Kosovtsevo, Lyubitskoye and Ternovatoye, Zaporizhia region. The enemy lost more than 300 soldiers, an armored combat vehicle, five vehicles and an electronic warfare station.

Units of the Center group of forces continue to destroy the encircled formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the railway station, the northeastern and western parts of the city of Dimitrov in the Donetsk People's Republic, as well as the cleansing of the settlements of Grishino and Svetloye in the Donetsk People's Republic. The manpower and equipment of three mechanized, jaeger, airmobile, two amphibious assault brigades, a regiment of unmanned systems and two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades, a defense brigade, four National Guard brigades and the Azov special forces brigade were defeated. The enemy lost up to 495 soldiers, a Cossack armored car, a pickup truck and a field artillery piece.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated fuel depots, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 districts. In turn, air defense systems shot down four guided aerial bombs and 290 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 102,637 UAVs, 639 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,531 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,631 multiple rocket launchers, 31,891 field artillery and mortars, 49,012 units of special military vehicles.
