Askarov made 38 saves and helped the San Jose Sharks defeat Pittsburgh

The San Jose Sharks Hockey Club defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-5 in overtime on December 13 in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season match.

Forward Tyler Toffoli and defenseman John Klingberg scored two goals apiece for the Sharks. Forwards William Eklund and Maclean Celebrini also scored. San Jose's Russian goalkeeper Yaroslav Askarov made 38 saves in the match.

Captain Sidney Crosby, forwards Rutger McGroarty, Kevin Hayes, Brian Rust and Anthony Manta scored for the Penguins. Russian forward Evgeni Malkin missed the match due to injury.

After this victory, San Jose (35 points) is in fourth place in the Pacific Division, while Pittsburgh (36 points) lost its fourth game in a row and is in sixth position in the Metropolitan Division.

Earlier in the day, HC Florida Panthers scored a major away victory over the Dallas Stars 4-0 in the NHL regular season match. This is the second defeat in a row for Dallas, the team is in second place in the Western Conference standings, having scored 47 points in 33 matches. Florida is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with 34 points after 31 games.
