The sale of children's champagne may be banned in Russia. On December 14, State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev sent such an appeal to the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.

"I consistently advocate banning such a "unique" phenomenon as "children's champagne." Alcohol is dangerous for a healthy person in any quantity. Champagne is an adult alcoholic drink originating from the French province of Champagne, and by definition cannot be childish, thereby misleading both children and their parents," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
