The investigative committee began to work out a version of the crime in the disappearance of the Usoltsev family

The Usoltsev family, who disappeared in the mountainous taiga of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, could presumably have become a victim of a crime. This was announced on December 13 by Alexey Eremin, head of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region and Khakassia.

"The version of an accident still remains a priority. Most likely, it was some kind of accident, and people froze to death. Other versions are also being worked out <...>, including that they were victims of a crime. We are also checking this version," TASS quoted Yeremin as saying.

He clarified that as part of the investigation of the criminal case, the investigative authorities are conducting a wide range of operational search and investigative measures. Currently, active work with witnesses is continuing, and their questioning is being carried out as planned.

On September 28, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported the loss of the Usoltsev family in the Minsk Loop area when they were heading to Mount Pinocchio. At the same time, over 515 km of forest roads and 40 square kilometers of woodlands were explored in search of missing tourists.

The active phase of the search was completed on October 12, but the work will continue in the format of point tasks, which will be performed by certified rescuers and professionals. Also, on October 22, investigators called the accident the main version of the family's disappearance.

Gennady Kabanov, Deputy head of the Penza Fire and Rescue Center, said on December 8 that the Usoltsev family could get lost and freeze in the forest. Kabanov noted that the Usoltsevs probably just got lost, and fatigue, hunger and cold led to their deaths.
