The FCS told about illegal gifts in the luggage of Russians

On the eve of the New Year holidays, customs officers seized several exotic items from the luggage of citizens who arrived in Russia. At Barnaul airport, inspectors confiscated a bottle of pickled monocle cobra protected by the CITES Convention from a woman who returned from Vietnam. In Krasnoyarsk, passengers tried to bring 212 cactus sprouts and ornamental plants from Thailand as New Year's gifts to themselves and their loved ones for planting.

In general, the service states that the list of items illegally moved in circumvention of customs legislation does not change depending on the season.

"As a rule, passengers try to illegally import clothes, accessories, jewelry and watches, and cash. The situation is the same in the New Year period," the press service of the Federal Customs Service of Russia told Izvestia.
