- The Foundation for the Children of Donbass has purchased new furniture for the school of future Olympians
The Charitable Foundation for the Children of Donbass delivered a large shipment of humanitarian aid to the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR): on December 12, everything necessary for their comfortable living and education arrived at the dormitory of the Lugansk Olympic Reserve School.
"Many of the school's students are guys from frontline towns, where periodic shelling still occurs, so they try not to leave the walls of the dormitory even on weekends. This is not just a vacation spot, it is now their real home," said correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin.
The charitable foundation created by the ROSSIYA Joint-Stock Bank decided to help future Russian Olympians.
"The furniture and bedding in this dormitory have not been updated for a long time. And so it was decided to help the school, to buy new furniture, new mattresses, bed linen, bedside tables, tables for them," said Kristina Fedoseeva, director of the Donbass Children's Aid Foundation.
It is specified that the school has more than 400 children from 12 to 18 years old, almost all of them live in a dormitory. Throughout its history, the school has produced hundreds of international-class masters, European and world champions who have won Olympic gold more than once. However, all these years, in fact, the hostel has not had any major repairs or proper renovation of the material base. Therefore, the necessary things for the children arrived from Moscow to Lugansk within a week.
"The school was opened in 1971. Parents sometimes produced here on their own. But there was no repair here, as such," said Natalia Rudenko, head of the dormitory at the Lugansk State Pedagogical University.
Thanks to the Foundation for the Children of Donbass, athletes from the LPR will now live better and train more pleasantly. The benefactors do not stop working and also open children's educational rooms in hospitals and polyclinics.
In September, the humanitarian mission of the Movement of the First took place in schools in the settlements of Kurakhovo and Kurakhovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Denis Chernobai, chairman of the "Movement of the First" of the DPR, personally visited educational institutions in the newly liberated territories, where he talked with local schoolchildren, launched the movement's work and handed over supplies for study and leisure in schools.
