In 2025, every fourth Russian citizen regularly saved money, while most often the amount of savings did not exceed 100 thousand rubles. This is evidenced by the results of a study reviewed by RIA Novosti.
According to a survey conducted by Postbank among almost 2,000 customers, 24% of respondents were able to save money, while another 31% did so irregularly. Almost half of the study participants — 45% — admitted that they had not saved money at all during the year.
"Among those who saved the most were those who managed to save 100 thousand rubles or less (38%). This is followed by: from 100 to 200 thousand rubles (22%), 500 thousand rubles and more (20%), from 200 to 300 thousand rubles (8%), from 400 to 500 thousand rubles (7%) and from 300 to 400 thousand rubles (5%)," it says. in the study.
The main motivation for saving for 45% of Russians was a financial safety cushion. Some respondents saved money for vacations (11%), housing (9%), repairs (8%), car purchase (4%), wedding (3%), education (2%). At the same time, 18% of the survey did not identify a specific savings goal.
The study also showed changes in the financial burden of citizens. 34% of respondents noted an increase in credit obligations over the year, a quarter of the debt burden remained the same, and 13% decreased. 29% of respondents stated that they had no loans. A third of the study participants' incomes increased over the year, half remained unchanged, and the rest decreased.
In 2025, Russians most often referred to rest as the largest expenses. Health expenses (15%) and repairs (14%) were also among the significant items of expenditure. Purchases of machinery (9%), real estate (7%) and cars (7%) were mentioned less frequently, and 22% of respondents said they had not made major purchases during the year, she added.Газета.Ru ".
