The Interior Ministry reported on a new payment fraud scheme under the guise of "Public Services"

Scammers distribute messages via messengers on behalf of Gosuslug with the promise of receiving a "payment", but in fact such mailings only lead to subscriptions to fraudulent channels. On December 11, the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned about this.

"In the example, there is a mass mailing in messengers on behalf of Gosuslug, recorded on December 11, 2025. When trying to receive a "payout", the user is offered illegal casinos, fake investment instruments and malicious software disguised as useful programs," the agency's Telegram channel says.

It was clarified that such schemes have remained relevant for years and not only inexperienced users come across them.

"Technical protection is developing, but social engineering remains a weak point: trusting communication scenarios and the lack of verification mechanisms still bring profit to attackers," the message says.
