Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmygal announced the country's readiness to hold general elections, stressing that voting is possible only if security conditions are met. This became known on December 10.
"If there are ideas on how to ensure security at the front line, how to give all our defenders the opportunity to vote during these elections, how to attract foreign observers to the front line so that they can monitor and compile reports on how the elections are going on at the front <...>, we can do this," RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying. He added that Ukraine is ready for elections at any time when safe and convenient approaches for organizing voting are found, including the involvement of foreign observers, and noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky supports such an initiative.
