Depp will star in the English-language adaptation of The Master and Margarita

American actor Johnny Depp will produce and probably play the main role in the first English-language film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's novel "The Master and Margarita". This was reported on December 10 by the newspaper Variety.

"The project, which currently has no director, is being produced by Depp's own studio IN.2 Film," the publication says.

The film is said to be produced by Depp, Svetlana Dali, Grace Lo, Steven Deuters and Steven Malit. The project was presented at the Red Sea Souk film market as part of the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.
