At least 19 people were killed and 16 injured due to the collapse of two residential buildings in the Moroccan city of Fez in Morocco. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on December 10.

It is noted that the buildings have been in a neglected state for a long time. At night, shortly before the tragedy, local authorities reported the collapse of two neighboring four-story buildings.

The injured were taken to the hospital. Search and rescue operations are continuing.

On October 29, a six-storey building collapsed in the Gibze district of Kocaeli, Turkey. It was noted that the cause of the incident is unknown. Police officers, firefighters and medical teams were sent to the scene. On November 1, Turkish Minister of Urban Development Murat Kurum announced that residents of 16 residential buildings in the emergency area had been evacuated in Gibze after the collapse.
