In the Pskov region, a dangerous pest was found in a temporary storage warehouse with flower crops. Experts have identified the infection of a batch of diffenbachia from Germany.

According to the Pskov news feed, during the inspection, the inspector found a live insect imago. Diffenbachia were infected with American echinotrips. This is the 25th case of detection of a quarantine facility in 2025 when importing imported batches of flowers.

The further journey of diffenbachia to Russia is prohibited, the owner has decided to destroy the party.

Experts note that echinotrips are a serious problem for indoor plants. Insects damage various crops, including eggplants, cucumbers and sweet peppers.
