Landscaping of Trade Union Street has been completed in Moscow
The work on the improvement of Trade Union Street, which lasted more than six months, has been completed. This was announced on Tuesday, December 9, by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
He noted that the comprehensive renovation of a major outbound highway, which carries about 130,000 vehicles daily, lasted seven months, the Moscow City News Agency reported.
Sobyanin stressed that the main change was the appearance of about 3.2 thousand new large-sized trees, which now decorate the Trade Union from the center to the MKAD, the website clarifies. kp.ru . He added that additional perennial plants have been planted. According to the mayor, pedestrian sidewalks and the roadway were put in order, overhead cable lines were removed underground, an additional drainage system was installed and outdoor lighting was upgraded. About 20 modern bus shelters have appeared on the street, writes NSN. In the area of the Belyaevo metro station, a new lane was made for turning left from Trade Union to Miklukho-Maklaya Street, which increased the capacity of the section by 10%.
A pedestrian crossing was also set up at the intersection of Trade Union and Nametkina, and an ellipsoid concrete dividing fence with a length of more than three kilometers was installed to increase safety.
Sobyanin added that three major outbound highways were improved this year: Trade Union Avenue with 60th Anniversary of October Avenue, Volgogradsky Avenue with Marxistskaya Street and Shchelkovskoye Highway with Krasnoprudnaya and Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya streets, Moscow 24 clarifies. According to him, between 800,000 and a million people live in the zone of influence of each of these highways.
