Murashko pointed to the interest in Russian medicine from the Middle East
The interest in Russian medicine from the Arab world and the Middle East is very high. This was stated on December 8 by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, answering a question from Izvestia.
"We receive a large number of requests for the treatment of certain patients. In general, the medical services export project was launched by President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] in the previous iteration of the national project. And all the indicators that were set, the amount of one billion US dollars, were significantly exceeded during the period," he said.
The Minister stressed that Russian medical technologies are unique and are offered at competitive prices, which most countries cannot provide. He also noted that the expansion of exports of services does not infringe on the volume of assistance for Russian citizens.
According to Murashko, this year, an additional 60 billion rubles were allocated as part of the state guarantees program for high-tech assistance in federal institutions. This was made possible by increasing labor productivity and organizing the work of high-tech centers on a seven-day work week.
On the same day, Murashko said that the cost of cancer diagnosis and treatment in Russia may be five or more times lower than in Western countries. He noted that the cost of surgical treatment of breast, lung and abdominal cancers in Russia is five to seven times cheaper than in Germany, and two to three times cheaper than in South Korea. According to him, Russian quality and production make it possible to reduce the cost of medical procedures.
