- Experts have linked the type of temperament with the choice of interior for maximum comfort
The feeling of comfort in the house directly depends on the matching of the interior to the type of temperament of the owner. Ignoring personal characteristics when arranging a space can create internal tension even in a technically ideal apartment. Strategic psychologist Olga Kravchuk and architects of the Pergaev Bureau told Izvestia about this on December 8.
"The coincidence of the environment with the temperament allows a person to relax, recover and live in his natural rhythm, turning the interior from a decoration into an internal resource," they specified.
Sanguine, active and sociable people need a dynamic space that allows for improvisation. Such people need a flexible "stage" for different scenarios — from morning solitude to a party with friends. Open layouts, modular furniture, large windows, and accent details in blue, green, or red are recommended for such people to create a feeling of "breathing movement."
"For choleric people who are focused on control and achieving goals, a strict and structured interior, reminiscent of a command center, is suitable. Visual clarity, symmetry, and measured accents of deep colors — red, amber, or emerald - are important to them. Geometric shapes, clear lines, as well as materials like glass, metal and stone are used in the design, while the core of the apartment often becomes a work area or an office," said Kravchuk.
Melancholic people with subtle sensitivity need a quiet emotional refuge for contemplation. Good sound insulation, soft textures and smooth, "watercolor" colors in dusty blue, smoky green or milky tones are critically important for them. The architects propose to create special secluded corners for them — niches or alcoves, and to make a quiet, comfortable bedroom the center of the living space.
"Phlegmatic people who value stability and predictability feel best in a balanced and rhythmic space. Interiors with clear logic, symmetry, built-in storage systems and a calm natural palette of beige, sand or olive shades are suitable for them. The materials should be warm and durable, and the core should be a cozy living room for quiet communication," the architects said.
According to Sergey Pergaev, the founder of the bureau, designing in this way is aimed at creating an environment that enters into a dialogue with a person, speeding up, calming or motivating him at the right moment. When an interior reflects character, it ceases to be just a collection of objects and begins to work for the owner, making his life more conscious and comfortable.
Artem Okhmat, head of advanced projects at Level Group, told Izvestia on November 23 that flooding of the apartment could be avoided due to high-quality waterproofing. According to him, the surface needs to be cleaned of dust, dirt and construction debris for better adhesion of materials.
