- Alikhanov noted an increase in the volume of mutual trade between Russia and Indonesia by almost 18%
The volume of mutual trade between Russia and Indonesia increased by almost 18% in January – October 2025. This was announced on December 8 by Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov at a meeting with Indonesian Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
"In January – October 2025, mutual trade increased by almost 18%, amounting to $3.6 billion. It is noteworthy that about 40% of this volume is accounted for by industrial products," he is quoted as saying on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
According to Alikhanov, the dynamics of trade and economic relations between the two countries demonstrates steady growth - a number of joint cooperation and investment projects are being implemented.
Russia supplies mineral products, foodstuffs, chemical and metallurgical products to Indonesia. Indonesia exports chemical and light industry products, alumina, food products and agricultural raw materials to Russia, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation said.
Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso said in October that the reorientation of oil and petroleum products exports from Russia to Asia had allowed for closer cooperation between Russia and Indonesia. He also said that he intends to diversify markets and expand access to international agreements in the economic sphere.
