Politico pointed to the fury in the EU over the updated US national security strategy

The US national security strategy has caused intense discontent in Europe, including due to the accusations made against European countries. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on December 7.

According to the newspaper, citing an unnamed European official, the new document caused him "rage." In addition, the accusations contained in the strategy were "very disturbing."

"Nevertheless, the official agreed that [US President Donald] Trump is too powerful for European countries to do anything other than stage a few symbolic diplomatic protests," the publication says.
