Tomorrow, December 9, a preventive raid "Pedestrian crossing" will take place in Moscow. The State Traffic Inspectorate of the capital announced this in its Telegram channel on December 8.

According to the department, according to the results of an analysis of the accident status, one of the predominant types of road accidents is hitting a pedestrian. During the raid, traffic inspectors will check the observance of traffic regulations by both pedestrians and drivers.

According to the results of the last Pedestrian raid, which took place on November 27, the capital's traffic police stopped more than 1,9 thousand traffic violations, of which 711 drivers of vehicles were prosecuted under Article 12.18 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Failure to provide driving advantages to pedestrians or other road users."

Also, more than 1.2 thousand pedestrians were fined under Part 1 of Article 12.29 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules by a pedestrian or other person involved in the traffic process," including for crossing the roadway in the wrong place.

Earlier, on December 5, the State Traffic Inspectorate announced that information published by a number of media outlets about the allegedly planned introduction of regulations aimed at limiting the registration of vehicles with extended service life was not true.
