Actor and director Oleg Uryumtsev passed away at the age of 67. This was announced on December 6 by the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.

"At the age of 68, our friend and colleague Oleg Grigoryevich Uryumtsev, a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, died," the Telegram channel said.

Uryumtsev was a versatile filmmaker. He served as president of the Y.N. Ozerov International War Film Festival and directed the ONLI ART Studio. His acting career includes roles in films such as Stalingrad, Petersburg Mysteries and Infinity. As a director and screenwriter, he created a number of significant works, including "Exodus", "Time to Collect Stones" and "Who is OZEROFF?", as well as the children's film tale "How Santa Claus's children searched or the long-awaited Postman".

Uryumtsev, who was educated in Russia, began his career in journalism after graduating from Irkutsk State University in 1983. Further development of his directorial talent occurred after graduating from the production faculty of VGIK in 1991. As the initiator of the festival, the actor played a key role in popularizing military-patriotic themes in cinema.
