Tusk called Europe the closest ally of the United States after Musk's call for the elimination of the EU

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on December 6 that Europe is the closest ally of the Americans, not the enemy.

Earlier in the day, American businessman and entrepreneur Elon Musk called for the elimination of the European Union (EU) and the return of sovereignty to individual member states. The businessman noted that the bureaucracy in Europe is "slowly strangling" European countries.

"Dear American friends, Europe is your closest ally, not your problem. <...> We must adhere to this, it is the only reasonable strategy for our common security. Unless something has changed," Tusk said in a message to X (ex. Twitter).

Tusk also noted that the United States and Europe have been cooperating for the last 80 years.
