The Lebanese army has announced the arrest of six people suspected of attacking UN peacekeepers in the south of the country. This was reported on December 6 by The Times of Israel newspaper.

According to a military statement, the Lebanese Army intelligence directorate identified the attackers and arrested the defendants in the case.

The army representatives added that the Lebanese army "will not tolerate attacks on UNIFIL, which performs an important stabilization role south of the Litani River, near the Israeli border."

Earlier, on November 16, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon. At that time, the press service of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) stressed that such actions were a serious violation of the UN Security Council resolution by Israel.

On November 6, the IDF launched a series of attacks against Hezbollah's infrastructure in southern Lebanon. It was clarified that the affected object was used by the movement to restore infrastructure.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on November 2 that the armed groups of the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon are trying to rearm, and the country intends to exercise the right to self-defense under the terms of the ceasefire.
