American activist Sam Kirchner, who opposed the development of artificial intelligence (AI), went missing two weeks ago. This was reported on December 4 by The Atlantic magazine.

Kirchner is the co-founder of the Stop AI movement, which opposes the development of AI. According to the publication, the organization was characterized by a tendency to radicalism. In particular, the missing man abandoned the "principle of nonviolence", after which he was excluded from the created movement.

It is noted that this particular event became the starting point in the disappearance of the man, after which his relatives soon lost contact with him.

Along with this, it is reported that after Kirchner's exclusion from Stop AI, OpenAI closed its offices in San Francisco based on alleged physical harm from the man.

On November 24, US President Donald Trump signed a decree launching the Genesis program, which is expected to accelerate scientific discoveries by using AI to analyze large amounts of scientific data. It was noted that as part of the decree, Trump also instructed the Department of Energy and its national laboratories to create an integrated AI platform using existing and future supercomputers.
