Russians are advised to opt out of face recognition and fingerprint recognition when logging into bank applications, and instead use a complex password and a good antivirus program. This became known on December 6 from the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which were reviewed by RIA Novosti.

"Use a complex lock screen password and a high-quality antivirus program. Do not log into banking applications using your fingerprint or face recognition function," the materials say.

The Russian Interior Ministry stressed that it is not recommended to store important information such as the number, expiration date, verification code and PIN code of the card on a smartphone. Also, in no case should you follow the links in the message, even if the sender is a bank.

On November 28, IT expert Daniil Borislavsky warned that there is a noticeable increase in fraud during the Black Friday period, especially related to fake delivery notifications. He noted that the scheme has become much more complex and convincing compared to previous SMS phishing.
