Russia has terminated military contracts with Canada, France, and Portugal
The Russian government has terminated a number of agreements with Canada, France and Portugal on military cooperation. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on December 5.
"To terminate the agreement between the Government of the USSR and the Government of Canada regarding military visits, <...> the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the French Republic <...> and the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Portuguese Republic on military cooperation," Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in an order.
It follows from the order that the Russian Foreign Ministry must notify the Canadian, French and Portuguese sides of the decision.
Earlier, on December 2, the State Duma (State Duma) ratified an intergovernmental agreement between Russia and India on the procedure for sending military personnel, as well as some military equipment to each other's territory. The Russian government stated in an explanatory note at the time that the ratification would simplify the use of airspace and the entry of warships into the ports of the two countries, which would strengthen military cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi.
