Polish citizens are massively skipping classes at the "On Standby" voluntary military training courses organized by the Polish Ministry of Defense. This was reported on December 5 by radio station Radio Zet.

According to a representative of one of the military units, people signed up and then simply did not come and did not warn in advance that they would not come.

"People signed up, then didn't report their absence, didn't make room for someone else to take advantage of the training. As a result, the turnout in some units was 50%," the article says.

According to the General Staff of the Polish Army, since the start of the program, 4 thousand people have been trained, attendance was 84%. At the same time, among all those who signed up, the proportion of young people aged 18 to 24 was 6%.

On November 6, it was reported that in 2026, the Polish Ministry of Defense plans to train a total of about 400,000 people individually and in groups as part of the Education with the Army program. It was clarified that the program will include a safety course, survival training, a tactical medicine course and hygiene classes in the online space.
