The weighted average price of a new passenger car in November 2025 was 3.54 million rubles, which is 2.9% higher than in October and 16% more than in November last year. As the analytical agency Autostat reported on December 5, prices for new passenger cars have doubled exactly in five years.

The rapid increase in weighted average prices in the fall of 2025 is due to two reasons. Firstly, the market structure is changing towards more expensive cars: Lada's share has decreased by 10 percentage points over the year (from 31% to 21%). At the same time, the share of global brands increased from 7% to 13%. Secondly, since the beginning of autumn, car companies have been adjusting price lists and removing discounts.

According to analysts, the weighted average price of used cars also began to rise in the fall and set a record in November of 1.3 million rubles. This is 1.1% more than in October this year, and 13% more than in November last year. Prices for used cars in Russia have also doubled in five years (+113%).

The Autostat report, which was received by Izvestia on December 3, reported that by the end of November, 127.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 5% more than in November 2024. The Lada Granta model retained the title of the bestseller in the primary Russian car market, the Haval Jolion remained the best-selling foreign car, and two models of the Russian brand Tenet entered the top five.
