Murashko announced the signing of an agreement with the Ministry of Health of India
On December 4, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko announced the signing of a large-scale cooperation agreement with the Indian Ministry of Health.
"It is planned to sign a major cooperation agreement with the Indian Ministry of Health tomorrow during the visit of the President of the Russian Federation [Vladimir Putin]," he said.
The Minister noted that cooperation with Indian pharmaceutical companies has been built steadily for many years, and Indian drugs account for about 16-18% of the volume of foreign medicines on the Russian market. Active work is also underway to control the quality of medicines, and relevant agreements have already been signed.
Murashko stressed the importance of staff training, pointing out that the number of Indian students in Russian universities has more than doubled over the past 10 years. He also highlighted the prospects for cooperation in the field of clinical medicine and scientific research, describing the interaction as absolutely constructive.
Earlier in the day, the Russian leader said in an interview with Indian journalists that there is a unique history between Russia and India. Putin also noted that the two countries' bilateral relations are developing in many areas.
Putin will pay a state visit to India on December 4-5. It is expected that the delegations of the Russian Federation and India will also discuss the current international and regional agenda.
