Blogger Mitroshina sold part of the apartments to pay off the tax debt
Blogger Alexandra Mitroshina reported on Thursday, December 4, that she had to sell some of her apartments to pay off her tax debt.
She explained that the funds used to purchase the apartments could have been obtained as a result of tax optimization. All sales transactions went through her personal bank accounts.
The blogger also noted that house arrest for her is a rather mild measure of restraint. During this time, she managed to get closer to her husband, re-read school literature and return to sports.
"To be honest, I can't complain. <...> Violating tax laws is very serious. Because of this, I had to sell my apartments: part of the money was spent on paying off debts, part on my current life," she added.
Mitroshina's house arrest was extended on the same day until May 1, 2026. It was reported that Mitroshina partially admitted the guilt of money laundering.
On November 1, the Investigative Committee of Russia completed the investigation of the criminal case against Mitroshina. It was sent to court.
Prior to that, on October 27, Mitroshina filed a civil lawsuit to recover 68.6 million rubles from former lawyer Alisa Volkhova and lawyer Olga Goltseva. From March 2023 to August 2024, lawyers abused Mitroshina's trust by making false threats. They talked about problems with the tax authorities, the possible blocking of accounts and blacklisting of the presidential administration, offering to solve these problems for a fee.
On October 21, investigators opened a criminal case against Volkhova and Goltseva, accused of fraud in the Mitroshina case.
Mitroshina was detained on March 7 at Sochi airport upon arrival from Dubai and charged with laundering 127 million rubles. According to investigators, having debts to the tax service, in 2021 she purchased an elite apartment on Bolshaya Dmitrovka in the center of Moscow.
