Bloomberg reported on Rome's change of position on arms supplies to Ukraine

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said his country's participation in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) program for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine was premature, indicating a change in Rome's strategy on the Ukrainian issue. This was reported by Bloomberg on December 3.

"These statements are the clearest sign that the government of [the Italian Prime Minister] Giorgio Meloni changed his strategy for Ukraine after he ran out of finances and overcame tensions within the ruling coalition," the publication says.

According to the agency, the Italian government was the first to explicitly state that Ukraine should not provide additional weapons during the ceasefire negotiation process. In addition, Tajani's statements contradict what the European Aerospace, Security and Defense Industry Association says, which insists on increasing defense production.
