US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and the son-in-law of the head of the White House Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, informed the American leader about the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on December 3 by the Reuters news agency, citing a representative of the Trump administration.

"The United States and Russia had a thorough and productive meeting," the source said.

The White House spokesman clarified that Witkoff and Kushner had held a briefing for Trump and the Ukrainian side.

The meeting between Witkoff and Putin ended on the night of December 3. The negotiations lasted about five hours. Financial Times journalist Christopher Miller wrote on December 3 that Witkoff was smiling at the talks in Moscow, while at a meeting with the Ukrainian delegation in Florida he was not smiling and was serious.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that negotiations between Russia and the United States would be conducted in greater "silence" in order to bring more benefits. He confirmed that this agreement remains in force and no adjustments are planned in this approach.
