- The State Duma approved a draft law on accounting for the length of service of a volunteer in a pension
At the plenary session of the State Duma (State Duma), a bill was approved in the first reading, which provides for the inclusion of time served in volunteer formations in the length of service for the appointment of a retirement pension. This was announced on December 3 on the website of the State Duma.
"Those who defend Russia should have equal social guarantees, including in terms of pensions. Therefore, it is fair to count the length of time spent in volunteer formations in the seniority of the participants," said Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma.
According to the explanatory note, for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, and the Rosgvardiya, the time spent in the CBO zone will be taken into account when assigning a pension. They will be able to receive the right to a pension if they have served for 20 years or more, including service in a volunteer formation.
On December 2, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, announced that pensioners receiving payments at the beginning of the month would receive a 7.6% indexed pension for January at the end of December 2025. It was specified that the indexation of pensions will be carried out taking into account the amount allocated in the budget.
