The New Year's illumination of Moscow in the evening could have impressed the American delegation and forced it to rethink the state of the Russian economy. This was announced on December 3 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"They came out and thought: if back in 2015 [US President Barack] Obama said that the Russian economy is in tatters, so what will happen next?" Zakharova said on Sputnik radio.

During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US Special Envoy Stephen Witkoff called the Russian capital an amazing city and his walk around Moscow beautiful.

The meeting between Witkoff and Putin ended on the night of December 3. The negotiations lasted about five hours. Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian leader, noted that the meeting was constructive and useful, but the Russian and American sides agreed to keep the details of the negotiations secret.
